The ones that may appear in a normal game of Magic are artifact, battle, creature, enchantment, instant, land, planeswalker, sorcery, and tribal (a card type found on some older cards)
You can play it in either mono coloured deck to good effect, it is very strong when you come up against white or black mages, it is a fine early play and it scales well into the late game
If you're going that route, just don't be piling whole shelves into your cart
